Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of MCAT teaching mode integrating curriculum ideological and political ideas in basic nursing courses. Methods From March 2020 to January 2021, two classes of students majoring in nursing in Zhejiang Industry Polytechnic College were selected as the research objects. There were 52 students in one class as experimental group, and 53 students in the other class as control group. The control group carried out conventional course ideological and political teaching, and the experimental group carried out MCAT teaching mode integrating curriculum ideological and political concept on the basis of the control group. The scores of students’ ideological and political knowledge, faith and behavior, humanistic care ability, professional identity, and critical thinking ability were compared between the two groups before and after implementation. Results After the implementation, the knowledge awareness rate, belief accuracy rate and behavior formation rate of the experimental group were higher than those before the implementation, and the experimental group was higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After the implementation, the scores of each dimension and total score of humanistic care ability in the experimental group were higher than those before the implementation, and the experimental group was higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After the implementation, the scores of professional identity and critical thinking in the experimental group were higher than those before the implementation, and the experimental group was higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion The MCAT teaching mode integrated with the ideological and political concept of the curriculum is helpful to improve the teaching quality of basic nursing and cultivate students’ professional quality.
