The self-made “nursing staff’s knowledge and attitudes of hospice care knowledge and attitude questionnaire” was used to conduct a questionnaire survey, and the canonical correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between their hospice care knowledge and attitudes. Results There were statistically significant differences in the scores of palliative care knowledge scores of oncology nurses with different age, marital status, job title, personal annual income, and seriously ill members in the family (P < 0.05); there were significant differences in palliative care attitudes among nurses in the oncology department of different ages, positions, and seriously ill members at home (P < 0.05). Conclusion Canonical correlation analysis showed that there was a high correlation between nursing staff’s knowledge and attitude, and the more comprehensive and solid the knowledge of hospice care was, the more positive the attitude of hospice care was. Management of pain and other symptoms, and psychosocial support of patients and their families were the main indicators of knowledge. The main indicators were the interests of hospice patients, the need for family support, and the caregivers’ attitudes towards fear and anxiety.
