Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of needle knife combined with Synovitis Granules in the treatment of damp heat obstruction type knee osteoarthritis. Methods A total of 180 patients with damp heat blocking knee osteoarthritis treated in the First Department of Orthopedics, Hebei Province Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2019 to may 2021 were selected, and they were divided into needle akupotomy group, traditional Chinese medicine group and combined group, with 60 cases in each group. They were treated with needle knife, oral Synovitis Granules and needle knife combined with Synovitis Granules, respectively. The patients in the three groups were treated for eight weeks. The visual analogue scale (VAS) score, Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis index (WOMAC) score and clinical efficacy were compared among the three groups before and after treatment, the levels of interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-6 were detected before and after treatment. Results After eight weeks of treatment, the VAS score and WOMAC score of the three groups were lower than those before treatment, and the combined group was lower than the akupotomy group and the traditional Chinese medicine group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in the three groups were decreased compared with those before treatment, and the levels of IL-1β and IL-6 in the combined group were lower than those in the akupotomy group and the traditional Chinese medicine group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The clinical efficacy of combination group was higher than that of akupotomy group and traditional Chinese medicine group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Akupotmy combined with Synovitis Granules has a significant effect in the treatment of damp heat blocking knee osteoarthritis. It can significantly alleviate knee swelling and pain, improve knee function, reduce inflammatory reaction, and reduce levels of serum IL-1β, IL-6 and can restore the function of daily activities, and has certain clinical promotion and application value.
