Abstract:Objective To explore the measures and effects of the extended follow-up service for high-risk infants from in-hospital to discharge in the nursing management of premature infants. Methods A total of 100 premature infants admitted to the Department of Pediatrics of Qingdao Municipal Hospital from January to October 2020 were selected and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was received routine nursing intervention, while the observation group was received extended follow-up services for high-risk children from in-hospital to discharge on the basis of routine nursing. The changes of physical indicators, neurodevelopmental status and the occurrence of neurological sequelae in the children after nursing intervention were observed. Results Six months after discharge, the height and weight of the two groups were higher than those at the time of discharge, while those of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After the intervention, the behavioral ability, active muscle tone, passive muscle tone, general assessment, primitive reflex, and total score of the two groups were higher than those before the intervention, while those of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The total incidence of neurological sequelae six months after discharge in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The introduction of extended follow-up services for high-risk infants from in-hospital to discharge in the nursing management of preterm infants can promote the better physical and neurological development of preterm infants, thereby improving their overall rehabilitation effect.
