Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect of Yiqi Wenyang Decoction in the treatment of persistent moderate and severe allergic rhinitis (AR) of spleen qi weakness type. Methods One hundred and twenty-six patients with persistent moderate and severe AR treated in Jiangsu Province Hospital of Chinese Medicine from June 2020 to October 2021 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and study group by envelope lottery, with 63 cases in each group. The control group was given routine treatment, and the study group was given Yiqi Wenyang Decoction on the basis of the control group, with 14 days as a course of treatment and two consecutive courses of treatment. The clinical efficacy, clinical symptoms and signs scores, serum cytokine levels and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The clinical efficacy of the study group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the clinical symptoms, signs and total scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the study group was lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the levels of interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and interleukin (IL)-1 in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, the levels of IL-13, IL-4, and IL-35 in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels of IFN-γ and IL-1 in the study group were higher than those in the control group, the levels of IL-13, IL-4, and IL-35 in the study group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions in both groups. Conclusion Yiqi Wenyang Decoction in the treatment of persistent moderate and severe allergic rhinitis AR patients can improve symptoms and reduce the level of inflammatory factors, with significant curative effect.
