Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of volunteer participation model application on the psychological status and quality of life of patients with lung cancer targeted therapy. Methods A total of 80 patients with lung cancer who were diagnosed and treated in the Department of Oncology, Anhui Anhui No.2 Provincial People’s Hospital from January 2018 to October 2021 were selected and divided into routine nursing group and volunteer participation group by random number table method. The routine nursing group (40 cases) received routine nursing during the treatment period, while the volunteer participation model was introduced into the nursing of the volunteer participation group (40 cases). The negative emotions, changes in quality of life, and nursing satisfaction were observed in the two groups. Results After the intervention, the scores of the self-rating anxiety scale and the self-rating depression scale in the two groups were lower than those before the intervention, while those of the volunteer participation group were lower than those of the routine nursing group, and the differences were statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). After the intervention, the scores of physical function, role function, emotional function, cognitive function, and social function in the two groups were higher than those before the intervention, while those of the volunteer participation group were higher than those of the routine nursing group, with statistically significant differences (P ＜ 0.05). The nursing satisfaction of the volunteer participation group was higher than that of the routine nursing group, and the difference was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion In the nursing of patients with lung cancer targeted therapy, the intervention in the mode of volunteer participation can effectively help patients improve their psychological status, significantly promote improvement of quality of life after treatment, and improve nursing satisfaction.
