Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of evidence-based nursing on children with pertussis. Methods A total of 46 children with pertussis treated in Xijing Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Military Medical University from March 2019 to April 2020 were selected and they were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 23 cases in each group. Routine nursing was given in the control group, and then evidence-based nursing was given in the observation group. Both groups were intervened for two weeks. The duration of related symptoms, length of hospital stay, occurrence of complications, and improvement of psychological state of family members were observed. Results After intervention, the time of vomiting caused by cough, the time of bluish complexion, the time of hearing lung rales, the time of crowing echo, spasmodic cough, and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group (P < 0.05). After intervention, the scores of Hamilton depression scale (HAMD) and Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA) in the families of the two groups were decreased, and the knowledge cognition scores were increased, and the HAMD and HAMA scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the knowledge cognition scores were higher than those in the control group (P < 0.05). The total efficacy of observation group was better than control group, and the total incidence of complications was lower than control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Evidence based nursing in the nursing of children with pertussis can effectively accelerate the relief time of symptoms and signs of children, improve the psychological state of family members, improve their disease knowledge and cognition, and significantly reduce complications.
