Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of acupuncture at fēngchí acupoint combined with ultrasound-guided stellate ganglion block (SGB) in the treatment of cervical vertigo based on propensity score matching. Methods Clinical data of 150 patients with cervical vertigo diagnosed and treated in Wangjing Hospital of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences from January to December 2020 were retrospectively analyzed, among them, 80 cases were treated with ultrasound-guided SGB and included in control group, 70 cases were treated with acupuncture at fēngchí acupoint combined with ultrasound-guided SGB and included in observation group, Finally, 30 cases were included in the control group and the observation group after propensity score matching. After treatment of four weeks, clinical efficacy, clinical symptom score, basilar artery blood flow velocity and vertebral artery blood flow velocity of two groups were compared, and the safety of two groups was observed. Results After matching, clinical effect of observation group was better than that of control group (P < 0.05). After matching, there were no significant differences in clinical symptom scores between two groups before treatment (P > 0.05); clinical symptom scores of two groups after treatment of four weeks were lower than those before treatment, and observation group was lower than control group (P < 0.05). After matching, there were no significant differences in basilar artery blood flow velocity and vertebral artery blood flow velocity of two groups before treatment (P > 0.05); the basilar artery blood flow velocity and vertebral artery blood flow velocity of two groups after treatment of four weeks were faster than those before treatment, and observation group was faster than control group (P < 0.05). There were no risk events and adverse reactions in both groups during treatment. Conclusion Acupuncture at fēngchí acupoint combined with ultrasound-guided SGB in the treatment of cervical vertigo is more effective and safe than ultrasound-guided SGB alone.
