Application of LAMβ1 combined with ARPC4 in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer

Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of laminin β1 (LAMβ1) combined with actin-related protein 2/3 complex 4 (ARPC4) in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer. Methods Cancer tissue samples and adjacent tissue samples from 74 patients with colorectal cancer in Rugao People’s Hospital of Jiangsu Province from March 2020 to March 2021 were collected. LAMβ1, ARPC4 mRNA expression levels in cancer tissues and adjacent tissues were detected by real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR; LAMβ1 and ARPC4 protein expression levels in cancer tissues and adjacent tissues were detected by Western blot; LAMβ1 combined with ARPC4 protein expression in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve. Results The mRNA and protein expression levels of colorectal cancer tissue LAMβ1, ARPC4 mRNA were higher than those in adjacent tissues (P < 0.05). The best cutoff point of cancer tissue LAMβ1, ARPC4 protein expression level in the diagnosis of colorectal cancer was 1.02 and 0.94 respectively; the sensitivity was 78.38% and 81.08% respectively; the specificity was 82.43% and 78.37% respectively; the area under curve (AUC) was 0.815 and 0.804 respectively, the Youden index was 0.608, 0.595, and the combined specificity, AUC and Youden index were 98.65%, 0.873, and 0.757, respectively. Conclusion The expression levels of LAMβ1 and ARPC4 protein in cancer tissues of patients with colorectal cancer are abnormally increased, both of which can be used as sensitive indicators for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer, and the combined diagnosis value of two indicators is higher.
