Abstract:With the increasing prevalence of obesity related metabolic diseases in the world, the proportion of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in liver diseases is gradually increasing, and the disease brings related disabilities. Complications have brought a heavy burden to patients suffering from the disease and social medical care. Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis is the body’s glucose and fat metabolism disorder, systemic low-grade inflammation. Then pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory adipokines, as a hormone of secretion, is secreted by adipose tissue (AT) that compose the AT-liver axis. But the adipokines have different functions between the processes of inflammation and pro-inflammatory. It will be effective in liver transport, fat breakdown ability and liver fat deposition, and regulating the development of NAFLD. This article focuses on the expression level and mechanism of adiponectin, leptin, resistin, visfatin, retinol binding protein 4, and other adipokines in the progression of NAFLD disease. With the improvement of adipokines research and the follow-up of clinical research, new strategies and new ideas are provided for the treatment of adipokines in NAFLD disease.
