Abstract:This paper summarizes Professor Gao Zhan’s experience in the treatment of urinary incontinence after radical prostatectomy. Professor Gao Zhan believes that the basis of this disease are weakness of the elderly and tumor consumption, and the pathogenic conditions of this disease are surgical injury, heat and blood stasis during operation. Professor Gao Zhan points out that the pathogenesis is spleen and kidney deficiency, and stasis and heat binding, both of them lead to bladder failing to control. The disease location is bladder, and the deficient syndrome is the most common type, with intermingled deficiency and excess. In the treatment, we should give consideration to manifestation and root cause and treating with both elimination and reinforcement. Treatment based on syndrome differentiation combined with staging treatment is necessary. The treatment is mainly to replenish qi and fortify spleen, supplemented by tonifying kidney to reinforce and arrest with astringent therapy, accompanied by clearing heat and removing blood stasis. Professor Gao Zhan takes the self-designed Qishao Tianxin Prescription as the basic prescription, flexibly adds and subtracts Chinese herbs according to the clinical actual situation of patients, and achieves remarkable effect after application in clinical practice. One medical record is attached to prove our view.
