Abstract:Objective To discuss the types, era, geographical distribution, and quoted in the literatures collected from traditional Chinese medicine character reference books. Methods Through the method of bibliography, Biographies of Chinese Doctors of All Dynasties was used as the research object, the booklist quoted data table was established, counted, and screened, and the frequency distribution table was made. Results A total of 3376 kinds of literatures were collected in the Biographies of Chinese Doctors of All Dynasties, mainly involving medical scholar, local chronicle, catalogue, novelists, and other collection types. There were 2196 kinds of specific citation the era of literatures, 1130 kinds of literature era that were still doubtful, and 50 kinds of foreign literatures. It was represented by doctors and catalogues types, the era of cited literature could be roughly divided into Tang and before Tang dynasty, Song, Jin, and Yuan dynasties, Ming and Qing dynasties, modern times, and contemporary times. There were 985 kinds of literatures of local chronicle type, of which 5 kinds were unknown, and the rest 980 kinds were distributed in 24 provinces such as Sichuan, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang; 175 kinds of literatures were cited from more than 50 kinds of literatures, mainly catalogues, medical scholar, local chronicles, and likeness book types. Among the cited literatures, there were 55 literatures with unclear types, and the remaining 120 literatures were mostly cited from medical scholar, other collections, novelists, and catalogues types. Conclusion Biographies of Chinese Doctors of All Dynasties is indeed the most abundant reference book for the data collection of biographies of currently medical. In addition to realizing the various arranging methods of the cited bibliography of the book, this study can also provide convenience and methodological reference for searching medical historical materials.
