Abstract:Stroke is the first cause of death in China, and the incidence is increasing year by year, 75% of stroke patients are left with different degrees of dysfunction. Virtual reality (VR) is an emerging rehabilitation technology with great potential, which has the advantages of low cost, high immersive, high participation, interest, and safety compared with traditional rehabilitation method. Recent studies have focused on the application of VR technology in motor and cognitive function after stroke and confirmed the mutual influence between the two, but the mechanism has not been clarified. VR technology is expected to be applied to study the mechanism between motor and cognitive function, and higher motor cognition after stroke. This article reviews application progress of VR technology in stroke rehabilitation in recent years, providing a reference for popularizing and deepening the application of VR technology in the field of rehabilitation medicine.
