Abstract:Type 2 diabetes mellitus is one of the major chronic diseases of global concern. Its pathogenesis has not yet been fully elucidated. It is a worldwide public health problem threatening human health. Vitamin K is a kind of naphthoquinone derivative with phylloquinone biological activity. It is a biologically active compound necessary to maintain optimal body function. It can participate in the carboxylation process of Vitamin K dependent proteins, it plays a positive role in prerenting and treating atherosclerosis, reducing the release of inflammatory factors, and improving insulin sensitivity have a positive effect. This review focuses on the possible mechanism of Vitamin K in regulating insulin sensitivity and blood sugar status, adding new adjuvant treatments to better control the progress of diabetes.
