Abstract：Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of Yishen Zhuyu Decoction in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia with syndrome of kidney deficiency and stagnation and obstruction and its influence on inflammatory factors and sex hormones. Methods A total of 92 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia admitted to Taizhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Jiangsu Province from December 2018 to December 2020 were selected, they were divided into two groups according to random number table method, with 46 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Qianlie Shutong Capsules, and the study group was treated with Yishen Zhuyu Decoction on the basis of the control group. The scores of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms, clinical efficacy, inflammatory factors level, sex hormones level, and complications were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the scores of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment, the clinical efficacy of the study group was better than that of the control group (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment, the levels of interferon-γ and interleukin-6 in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P ＜ 0.05). After treatment, luteinizing hormone level in both groups were lower than those before treatment, and that in the study group was lower than that in the control group, while testosterone level in both groups were higher than those before treatment, and that in the study group was higher than that in the control group (P ＜ 0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups (corrected χ2=0.261, P = 0.609). Conclusion Yishen Zhuyu Decoction in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia with syndrome of kidney deficiency and stagnation and obstruction can improve the clinical symptoms, have significant curative effects, and it can reduce inflammation and regulate the level of sex hormones.
