Effect of self prepared Xuanfei Huatan Granules in the treatment of children with wind evil invading the lung syndrome cough variant asthma and its effect on immune function

Abstract:Objective To investigate the the effect of self prepared Xuanfei Huatan Granules in the treatment of children with wind evil invading the lung syndrome cough variant asthma and its effect on immune function. Methods A total of 80 children with wind evil invading the lung syndrome cough variant asthma admitted in Zhenjiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Jiangsu Province from March 2018 to May 2021 were selected as study objects, they were divided into observation group and control group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was given Budesonide Suspension on the basis of routine treatment, and the observation group was given self prepared Xuanfei Huatan Granules on the basis of control group. Both groups were treated for six weeks. The clinical efficacy, cough symptom scores, immunoglobulin (Ig) E, and eosinophils (EOS) before and after treatment. Results The clinical efficacy of observation group was better than control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the daytime and nighttime cough symptom scores, IgE, and EOS in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and observation group was lower than control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Self prepared Xuanfei Huatan Granules have obvious curative effect on cough variant asthma in children with wind evil invading the lung syndrome, and it’s beneficial to promote the recovery of immune function and has high clinical application value.
