Abstract:Objective To explore and analyze the effect of moderate resistance muscle strength training in the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal elderly. Methods A total of 110 postmenopausal elderly patients with osteoporosis admitted to Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region People’s Hospital from August 2019 to October 2020 were selected and divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 55 cases in each group. The control group was given routine intervention, and the observation group was given moderate resistance muscle strength training on the basis of the control group. Both groups were trained continuously for 16 weeks. The differences of pain degree, bone mineral density, balance function, and quality of life scores were compared between the two groups before and after intervention. Results Fifty-one cases in the control group and 48 cases in the observation group were included. After intervention, bone mineral density of lumbar spine(L2-L4), hip joint, and neck of femur , and the scores of physical functioning, physical functioning, physical pain, general health, vitality, social functioning, emotional functioning, mental health were all higher than those before intervention, and the observation group was higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After intervention, the values of standing on solid surface with eyes open, standing on solid surface with eyes closed, standing on pillows with eyes open, standing on pillows with eyes closed were all lower than those before intervention, and the observation group was lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The pain degree in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Moderate resistance muscle strength training for postmenopausal elderly patients with osteoporosis can effectively improve bone density, relieve pain, improve joint function and promote quality of life.
