Abstract:Objective To investigate the current situation of the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of prehabilitation medical staffs in department of thoracic surgery and its influencing factors, and to provide reference for clinical practice. Methods From November to December 2020, 394 medical staffs working in department of thoracic surgery of 38 general hospitals in Chongqing were selected as the research objects. The current situation of KAP level about prehabilitation was evaluated by using the self-designed KAP questionnaire. The single factor and multi-factor analysis were used to analyze the influencing factors of KAP level about prehabilitation of medical staffs working in department of thoracic surgery. Results The total score of KAP of medical staff in department of thoracic surgery was (63.87±9.16) points, the knowledge score was (26.20±4.84) points, the attitude score was (22.28±2.52) points, and the practice score was (15.39±4.51) points. Knowledge and attitude, knowledge and behavior, attitude and behavior were positively correlated (P < 0.01). The results of univariate analysis showed that there was significant difference in the score of knowledge, attitude and practice of pre-habilitation among thoracic medical staff of different age, education background, working years, position, hospital level and department whether to implement enhanced recovery after surgery of medical staff in department of thoracic surgery (P < 0.05). Multivariate regression analysis showed that working years (X3), hospital levels (X5), and whether the department had implemented enhanced recovery after surgery (X6) were influencing factors of medical staff in department of thoracic surgery (P < 0.05). The linear regression equation was obtained: Y = 93.269-4.270 X3-3.290X5-7.123X6, F = 42.902, R2 = 0.420, adjusted R2 = 0.410. Conclusion Medical staffs working in department of thoracic surgery have a positive attitude towards prehabilitation, but their knowledge and practice need to be improved. Working years, hospital levels, and whether their departments had implemented enhanced recovery after surgery were influencing factors of KAP level, the education and training of pre-habilitation should be strengthened for junior medical staff and primary hospitals, and accelerate the implementation of enhanced recovery after surgery in departments, so as to and promote the clinical practice of pregailitation.
