Abstract:Objective Based on the “5 moments” of drug safety, to understand the current situation and influencing factors of medication safety in patients with diabetes. Methods From June to September 2021, a convenience sampling method was used to select 185 diabetic patients from the Department of Endocrinology of Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital as the survey subjects. The self-designed general information questionnaire and medication safety “5 moments” questionnaire were used to investigated. Results The total score of medication safety in diabetic patients was (64.76±10.65) point. There were statistically significant differences in the medication safety scores of diabetic patients with different educational levels, occupation, monthly income, medical insurance type, medical burden, long-term residence, regular monitoring of blood sugar, and emphasis on diabetes drug treatment (P < 0.05). Multiple linear regression showed that educational level, occupation, medical burden, and emphasis on diabetes medication were the influencing factors of medication safety in diabetic patients (P < 0.05). The above variables explained 44.7% of the total variation of medication safety in diabetic patients. Conclusion Based on the “5 moments” of medication safety, the medication safety level of diabetic patients is relatively low, which may be affected by various factors, and medical staff can carry out targeted medication guidance accordingly.
