Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of sensitive indicators of nursing quality in the safety management of elderly inpatients. Methods A total of 53 elderly inpatients who received treatment in Cangzhou People’s Hospital (“our hospital” for short) before the application of sensitive indicators of nursing quality from January to May 2020 were selected as the control group. At the same time, a total of 53 elder patients who received treatment in our hospital from June 2020 to March 2021 after applying the sensitive indicators of nursing quality were selected as the research group. The control group was given the routine nursing quality management mode, while the research group was given the nursing quality-sensitive index management mode. Sensitive indicators of nursing quality, quality of life scores, self-rating anxiety scale (SAS) scores, self-rating depression scale (SDS) scores, and incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups. Results The accuracy rate of specialist assessment, individualized rehabilitation training rate, nursing specialist diagnosis rate, risk assessment accuracy rate, and health education awareness rate in the study group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). After the intervention, the scores of physiological function, physiological function, physical pain, mental health and overall health of the two groups were higher than those before treatment, while those of the research group were higher than those of the control group, with statistical significant differences (P < 0.05). After the intervention, the SAS and SDS scores of the two groups were lower than those before the intervention, while those of the study group were lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The incidence of adverse events in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The application of nursing quality-sensitive indicators during the safety management of elderly hospitalized patients can reduce the possibility of adverse events, effectively relieve the patients’ various negative emotions, and promote the further improvement of nursing quality, which can be widely used.
