Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of blended learning in ‘medical genetics’ for training of rural order-oriented medical students. Methods The study period was from February to July 2021, a total of 139 rural order-oriented general medicine students from Xi’an Medical University in Grade 2019 were divided into blended learning group (70 students) and control group (69 students) through the random number table method. The control group was taught with the traditional teaching method and blended learning group carried out various teaching methods, such as case teaching, micro-lectures. The teaching effect was evaluated by the combination of test score analysis and questionnaire. Results The middle term exam scores, the final test scores, and the total exam scores of the blended learning group were higher than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The results of the questionnaire showed that blended learning group was better than the control group in terms of doctor-patient communication ability, comprehensive problem analysis ability, and clinical thinking, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The blended teaching improves the quality of teaching and strengthens the job adaptability of rural order-oriented medical students. This research may provide a reference for further optimizing the training mode of rural order-oriented medical students.
