Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical effects of two different artificial lacrimal ducts in the treatment of obstruction of anterior lacrimal passage. Methods A total of 132 patients who received obstruction of anterior lacrimal passage combined with artificial lacrimal duct implantation in the Fourth People’s Hospital of Shenyang from January 2018 to April 2020 were collected. They were divided into RS artificial lacrimal duct group (67 cases) and ring artificial lacrimal duct group (65 cases) according to their wishes. The two groups were extubated nine months after operation, followed up for three months after extubation, and the time, effects, and complications of operation were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time of RS artificial lacrimal duct group was shorter than that of ring artificial lacrimal duct group, and the total incidence of complications was lower than that of ring artificial lacrimal duct group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the success rate of operation between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion In the operative process of patients with obstruction of anterior lacrimal duct, the advantages of RS artificial lacrimal duct are more prominent, which can reduce the incidence of operative complications, shorten the operation time, and provide a more reliable implant material for obstruction of anterior lacrimal duct, which is worthy of promotion by clinicians.
