Abstract:Objective To study the effect of Shentong Zhuyu Paste in the auxiliary treatment of patients with blood stasis knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Methods A total of 50 patients with blood stasis knee osteoarthritis treated in the Department of Outpatient, the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine from June 2020 to March 2021 were divided into control group and treatment group by random number table method, with 25 cases in each group. The treatment lasted for 14 days. The control group was treated with conventional therapy, and the treatment group was combined with plaster for external application on the basis of the control group. Clinical efficacy, coagulation function, KOA Chinese medicine score, visual analog scale (VAS) and Western Ontario and mcMaster Universities (WOMAC) index were compared between the two groups. Results The clinical efficacy of the treatment group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Before ard after treatment, there were no significant differences in prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time, thrombin time and D-Dimer of within and between groups (P > 0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in KOA scores, VAS scores and WOMAC index between the two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, KOA Chinese medicine score, VAS score and WOMAC index in two groups were lower than before, and the treatment group was lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The clinical effect of Shentong Zhuyu Paste in the auxiliary treatment of blood stasis KOA is worthy of recognition. The treatment has obvious effects of relieving pain and improving joint movement function.
