Abstract:Objective To explore the reliability of digital evaluation of gingival thickness of alveolar ridge crest in implant area of patients with dentition defect. Methods From January 2020 to June 2021, 47 patients with digital dental support guide implants were selected from the Department of Stomatology, Fuyang People’s Hospital, Anhui Province. All patients underwent cone beam CT photography and 3shape oral scanning. The gingival thickness of alveolar ridge crest was measured by digital technique before operation, and was measured again by modified gingival puncture method during operation. The difference and consistency of gingival thickness measured by the two methods were analyzed and compared, and the reliability of digital measurement results was tested by intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Results There was no significant difference in gingival thickness between the two methods (P > 0.05). Bland-altman analysis showed that the consistency of the measurement results of the two methods was good, and no measurement outside the consistency interval appeared. The ICC and its 95%CI of measurement results by different surveyors using digital technology was 0.932(0.882-0.962). Conclusion The results of measuring gingival thickness in implant area of patients with dentition defect by digital technique are consistent with the modified gingival puncture method, and the reliability is good.
