Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of family health education on postoperative nursing of microscopical varicocele. Methods A total of 100 adult male patients with severe varicocele without mental illness diagnosed in Baoding Second Hospital of Hebei Province from January 2014 to January 2018 were selected, and all patients adopted microscopic varicocele ligation. According to the random number table method, they were divided into control group and observation group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing measures, and the observation group was given family health education intervention based on the control group. The results of scrotal ultrasonography and semen analysis were observed three and six months after operation, and the diameter of spermatic vein and semen recovery were compared. Negative emotions, compliance, satisfaction, postoperative complications and pregnancy of the patient’s wife were investigated. Results Three months after operation, the semen concentration, sperm survival rate, forward movement, and testosterone content in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, the maximum diameter of the spermatic vein was smaller than that of the control group the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in total sperm motility and testicular volume between the two groups (P > 0.05). There were no significant differences in semen concentration, sperm survival rate, forward movement, testosterone content, total sperm motility, and testicular volume between the two groups at six months after operation (P > 0.05). The negative emotion score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05); the satisfaction score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05); there was no statistical significance in compliance between the two groups (P > 0.05). The incidence rate of postoperative complications in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in pregnancy rate of wife between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion The recovery degree of patients in the observation group with family health education in the first three months after operation was better than that in the control group, and there were fewer postoperative complications. Family health education after low ligation of spermatic vein under microscope is a palliative and effective nursing method, which is of great significance to promote the recovery of patients and ensure the curative effect.
