Abstract:Arrhythmia is a common clinical cardiovascular disease or complication. It belongs to the category of “palpitations” and “stunned” in traditional China medicine. Clinical treatment is often very tricky, and traditional Chinese medicine is effective in treating palpitations. Director Zhang Limei is a well-known cardiovascular expert in Guang’anmen Hospital, China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences, and has unique clinical experience in the treatment of arrhythmia. This article summarizes Director Zhang Limei’s experience in the treatment based on syndrome differentiation. Professor Zhang Limei believes that the pathogenesis of palpitations is deficient root and excessive superficial, and the fundamental pathogenesis is deficiency of qi and yin. Among them, the deficient root is deficiency of qi, blood, yin, and yang, and the excessive superficial is excess of phlegm dampness, phlegm stasis, and phlegm fire. Traditional Chinese medicine is based on the principles of replenishing qi and nourishing yin, and warming blood vessels. Clinical emphasis on holism, as well as the use of the methods of tranquilizing spirit to calm mind, soothing liver and regulating qi, invigorating spleen and resolving phlegm, promoting qi and activating blood, and extinguishing wind and restore pulsation, have significant effects, and worthy of promotion.
