Abstract:Objective To visually analyze the related literature on acupuncture and moxibustion treatment of essential hypertension (EH) in the past 20 years, and to get the research hotspots and research trends in this field. Methods CiteSpace software was used to analyze the authors, institutions, keywords, and research hotspots of literatures related to acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for EH in Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure from January 2001 to June 2021, and the atlas was drew. Results A total of 773 literatures were included, and 504 authors were included to form three influential research teams: Wang Shu, Shi Xuemin and Liang Fanrong. With First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine as the core, research institutions in Tianjin have formed a research advantage network. Keywords co-occurrence results showed that the top five keywords were essential hypertension, acupuncture, hypertension, hypertension, and acupuncture therapy. Keywords co-occurrence network centrality of the top 16 keywords could be divided into four categories: disease, treatment, acupoint, mechanism research. The hot highlight word results showed that the research hotspots could be roughly divided into the following categories: the research hotspots of acupoints included féngchí point, rényíng point, and qūchí point; the hot spots of therapeutic research included acupuncture and moxibustion therapy; the basic research hotspots of mechanism included gene chip, hypothalamus, nitric oxide; hot spots of clinical efficacy evaluation included immediate hypotension, heart rate variation rate, circadian rhythm of blood pressure. Conclusion In recent 20 years, the domestic research on acupuncture and moxibustion treatment for EH has formed a regional advantage network based on Tianjin area and formed a number of influential research teams. And the efficacy evaluation tends to be diversified, but there is a problem of weak basic research.
