Abstract:Objective To analyze the influencing factors of the coping style of young and middle-aged patients with essential hypertension (EHT). Methods A total of 100 young and middle-aged EHT patients who were treated from April 2018 to December 2020 in the Third Clinical College of China Three Gorges University were selected. The simplified coping style questionnaire (SCSQ) was used to evaluate the patient’s coping style, design the baseline data filling form, and inquire and record the relevant baseline data of the patient. Logistic regression analysis was used to find out the relevant factors affecting the coping style of young and middle-aged EHT patients. Results Among 100 patients, 47 cases responded negatively, accounting for 47.00%; 53 cases responded positively, accounting for 53.00%. EHT patients with different coping styles had statistically significant differences in education level, perceived stress score, psychological resilience score, and self-feeling burden score (P < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that college degree or below, heavier perceived pressure, self-perceived burden, and sleep quality were generally influential factors for the negative coping of young and middle-aged EHT patients (OR > 1, P < 0.05). Conclusion The negative coping of young and middle-aged EHT patients may be affected by their low education level, heavy perceived pressure, self perceived burden and general sleep quality.
