Abstract:Objective To investigate the characteristics of sublingual vessel in patients with gastric cancer and to analyze the correlation between sublingual vessel and gastric cancer diagnosis. Methods This study collected 81 patients with chronic non-atrophic gastritis and 111 patients with chronic atrophic gastritis who visited Yuhang District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province from January 2020 to January 2021, and 204 patients with gastric cancer who visited Zhejiang Cancer Hospital during the same period. The information of three groups of sublingual vessel was observed and recorded, including length, thickness, shape, color, petechia, and ecchymosis. The degree of sublingual vessel stasis was quantitatively analyzed based on artificial intelligence tongue diagnosis and identification system. Results There was significant difference in the grading level of sublingual vessel among the three groups (P < 0.05). The gastric cancer group had higher grades of sublingual vessel than chronic non-atrophic gastritis group and chronic atrophic gastritis group, the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in sublingual vessel grading between chronic atrophic gastritis group and chronic non-atrophic gastritis group (P > 0.05). The grade of sublingual vessel in early gastric cancer patients was better than that in advanced gastric cancer patients, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The classification of sublingual vessel can be used as a reference index for clinical diagnosis of gastric cancer, suggesting that there is a relationship between sublingual vessel and the occurrence and development of gastric cancer.
