Methods A total of 100 elderly patients with coronary heart disease admitted to Wuxi People’s Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from September 2019 to March 2020 were selected, the patients were divided into control group (routine nursing intervention) and observation group (problem-oriented holistic nursing intervention) by random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. Self-efficacy, compliance behavior and disease knowledge master degre were compared between the two groups. Results The general self efficacy scale scores of both groups after intervention were higher than those before intervention, and the observation group was higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The observation group had higher total compliance with the doctor and disease knowledge than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Problem-oriented holistic nursing intervention can enhance the self-efficacy of elderly coronary heart disease, help patients better understand coronary heart disease and its treatment knowledge, and improve patients’ compliance behavior.
