Abstract:Objective To systematically evaluate the diagnostic value of long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) in type 2 diabetes by meta analysis. Methods PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, CNKI, Wanfang Data, and VIP were searched by computer, and clinical studies on lncRNAs in the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus published from inception to February 2021 were collected for screening, data extraction, and literature quality assessment. Meta-analysis was performed on the included studies by using Meta-disc 1.4 and Stata 16 software. Results A total of 12 studies were included, including 1776 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and 1508 healthy subjects. Meta-analysis results showed that the combination sensitivity was 0.75(95%CI: 0.73-0.77, P < 0.001), the combination specificity was 0.70(95%CI: 0.67-0.72, P < 0.001), and the area under the summary receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.79, Q* = 0.73. Subgroup analysis showed that the selection of lncRNAs with different variation trends was the source of heterogeneity in the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus (P < 0.05). Sensitivity analysis results showed that the combined diagnostic odds ratio was 7.93 to 9.75 after the exclusion of literatures one by one, indicating that the included literatures had good stability. The results of publication bias analysis showed that there was no significant publication bias among the studies (P > 0.05). Conclusion The expression level of circulating lncRNAs has important value and significance for the early diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus.
