Research progress of treating ulcerative colitis with traditional Chinese medicine based on intestinal flora

Abstract:Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic immune-mediated disease affecting the intestinal tract. Its course is prolonged, the recurrence rate is high, and the lack of effective treatment affects the health of patients. In recent years, the number of UC patients has been increasing, which has attracted wide attention, but its etiology and pathogenesis remain unclear. More and more studies have shown that intestinal microecological imbalance is an important pathogenic mechanism of UC. Traditional Chinese medicine can play a role in the treatment of UC by regulating intestinal microecological balance, enhancing the stability of intestinal microbial barrier and improving intestinal immune function. This article mainly reviews the research progress of the regulation of intestinal microbiome by traditional Chinese medicine monomer and compound in the treatment of UC, and provides reference for further treatment of UC.
