Abstract:Epidemic diseases are characterized by rapid spread, rapid onset, and dangerous conditions, which bring heavy burden to the global economy and health care system. For thousands of years, Chinese medicine has formed a complete theoretical system in the prevention and treatment of epidemic diseases. Ancient medical books record a large number of epidemic prevention ideas and treatment measures related to moxibustion, and modern pharmacological research also shows that moxibustion has anti-inflammatory, immune, antibacterial, and antivirus effects. This article is based on the understanding of epidemic diseases in traditional Chinese medicine and combined with modern clinical application research, exploring the feasibility of moxibustion therapy in the prevention and treatment of epidemic diseases from the perspective of “therapy for preventive treatment of disease”, providing evidence and ideas for further prevention and treatment of epidemic diseases in later clinical practice.
