Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of kinesiology tape on the treatment of early knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Methods A total of 60 patients with early KOA who were treated in the First People’s Hospital of Huzhou from February 2021 to August 2022 were selected, Stata procedure was used to randomly assign the experimental group and the control group, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Meloxicam Tablets orally, and the experimental group was treated with kinesiology tape on the basis of the control group, with a course of seven days. After three courses of treatment, the clinical efficacy, symptom score, inflammatory factor level, and treatment safety of the two groups were evaluated. Results The clinical efficacy of the experimental group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of pain, symptoms, daily activities, sports and entertainment functions, and quality of life in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the experimental group was lower than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the levels of blood cartilage oligomeric matrix protein, interleukin-6 and hypersensitive C-reactive protein in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the experimental group was lower than the control group (P<0.05). No serious adverse reactions occurred in both groups. Conclusion The kinesiology tape has a significant effect and good safety in the treatment of early KOA.
