Abstract:Objective To investigate the relationship between blood pressure level before and after tooth extraction and wound healing in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods A total of 115 elderly patients with hypertension admitted to Beijing Puren Hospital from January 2019 to December 2021 were selected as the study objects, and all patients were treated with tooth extraction. The wound healing of patients one week after tooth extraction was counted, and they were divided into poor healing group and good healing group according to the wound healing condition. The clinical data and the difference of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure before and after tooth extraction between two groups were compared; the influencing factors of wound healing effect in elderly hypertension patients were analyzed; the predictive value of blood pressure level before and after tooth extraction for wound healing was evaluated. Results There were 94 cases of good wound healing and 21 cases of bad wound healing in 115 elderly patients with hypertension. The level of serum interleukin-6 (IL-6) and the difference of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure before and after extraction in poor healing group were higher than those in good healing group (P<0.05). IL-6, the difference of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure before and after tooth extraction were risk factors for poor wound healing in elderly patients with hypertension (OR=3.080, 2.954, 3.350, P<0.05). The area under the curve of combined systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure before and after tooth extraction was higher than that of each single prediction (P<0.05). Conclusion The blood pressure level before and after tooth extraction is related to the wound healing effect in elderly patients with hypertension, and the combined measurement of the difference of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure before and after tooth extraction can predict the wound healing effect in elderly patients with hypertension.
