Abstract:Primary biliary cholangitis is an autoimmune liver disease, and its incidence has been increasing in recent years. Many patients only use Western medicine, and the treatment effect is not well. Professor Yao Shukun is good at diagnosing and treating primary biliary cholangitis from the perspective of integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, with excellent curative effect and quite experience. Professor Yao Shukun believes that most patients nowadays are damp-heat syndrome with the change of lifestyle, especially diet habits. He pays special attention to healthy diet during treatment, and instructs patients to eat whole grains and vegetables as the main diet, which embodies the idea of “seeking the basis for curing diseases, herbal medicine and food being of the same source”. Professor Yao Shukun advocates that treatment must be based on the principle of clearing damp-heat, supplemented by regulating qi and removing blood stasis. The prescription is concise, and the herbal medicine can be added or subtracted flexibly according to the patient’s condition and the symptom. It is worth learning and using for reference.
