Abstract:Objective To retrieve, evaluate, and summarize the evidence of self-management in patients with urinary incontinence. Methods The Cochrane Library, JBI Evidence-based Health Care Database, UK National Institute for Healthcare Excellence, European Urological Association, Canadian Association of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, Japan Urological Association, Women’s Preventive Services Initiative, PubMed, Web of Science, China Biomedical Literature Database, CNKI, Wanfang Data were searchered. The retrieval time was from the establishment of the database to March, 2021. The quality of the included literatures was evaluated, and evidence was extracted from the literatures. Results A total of 12 literatures meeting the quality standards were included, and 21 pieces of best evidence were finally collected, including screening assessment, lifestyle, functional exercise, drug therapy, and follow-up. Conclusion Clinical medical staff should selectively apply the best evidence of the self-management of patients with urinary incontinence to implement self-management intervention for patients with urinary incontinence on the basis of evidence and in combination with the actual situation and patients’ wishes.
