Abstract:Objective To compare the efficacy of muscle bone ultrasound-guided akupotomy and traditional akupotomy in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis (KOA). Methods A total of 100 patients with KOA in the Department of Rehabilitation, Shijiazhuang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from March 2019 to October 2021 were selected as the research object, they were divided into control group (50 cases) and study group (50 cases) according to the random number table method. The control group was treated with conventional akupotomy, and the study group was treated with akupotomy under the guidance of muscle bone ultrasound. The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis index (WOMAC) score, visual analog scale (VAS) score, quality of life score and clinical effects after treatment were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the WOMAC scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the study group was lower than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the VAS scores of the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the study group was lower than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The quality of life scores of the two groups were increased than those before treatment, and the study group was higher than the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). After treatment, the efficacy of the study group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion The curative effect of muscle bone ultrasound-guided akupotomy in the treatment of KOA is better than that of conventional akupotomy. It can further improve the knee function, reduce the degree of knee pain and improve the quality of life, and avoid damaging healthy muscles and tendons.
