Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of acupoint application combined with fire-dragon moxibustion in patients with lumbar intervertebral disc prolapse. Methods A total of 80 patients with lumbar intervertebral disc prolapse who were treated at the Bozhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Anhui Province from March 2017 to March 2020 were selected as the research objects. According to the random number table method, they were divided in to control group and combined group, each group were divided into 40 cases. The control group was treated with acupoint application, and the combination group was treated with fire-dragon moxibustion on the basis of the control group. After 30 days of treatment, the clinical efficacy, Japanese orthopaedic association (JOA) scores, numerical rating scale (NRS) score, median frequency slope (MFs), and flexure elongation ratio (FER) were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate in the combined group was higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the JOA scores of the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the NRS score of the combined group was lower than that of the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, MFs in the two groups were higher than those before treatment, FER in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, MFs in the combined group was higher than that in the control group, FER in the combined group was lower than that in the control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion Acupoint application combined with fire-dragon moxibustion in patients with lumbar intervertebral disc prolapse can improve the curative effect and low back pain, at the same time, can improve the function of the lumbar spine.
