Abstract:Myocardial ischemia reperfusion injury (MIRI) is a type of myocardial injury in patients with ischemic heart disease after coronary intervention or thrombolytic therapy, which aggravates further and presents more severe clinical symptoms than before reperfusion. Studies have shown that acupuncture and moxibustion of traditional Chinese medicine can protect damaged myocardial cells through multiple channels, multiple ways, and multiple targets to reduce myocardial reperfusion injury, with precise effect and practical value. Acupuncture is involved in regulating apoptosis, oxidative stress, calcium overload, inflammatory response, and mitochondrial structural dysfunction. Treatment prescription is associated with the etiology of MIRI and the mechanism of acupuncture. Moxibustion mainly stimulates the corresponding acupoints through its warming and tonifying effect to protect the heart. This paper analyzes the mechanism and treatment plan of traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture and moxibustion in treating MIRI, hoping to provide theoretical basis for clinical treatment of MIRI.
