Abstract:Objective To observe clinical effect of modified Banxia Xiexin Decoction in the treatment of chronic gastritis with Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection. Methods Seventy-six patients of chronic gastritis with Hp infection in the Fourth Central Hospital of Baoding City in Hebei Province from July to December 2019 were selected and divided into two groups, each group of 38 cases. Control group was given routine Western medicine treatment, while observation group was treated with modified Banxia Xiexin Decoction on the basis of control group. The treatment course of both groups was two weeks. Traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score, Hp eradication rate, serum motilin and gastrin levels of two groups were observed before and after treatment, and clinical effects of two groups were statistically analyzed. Results After treatment, the scores of abdominal distension or abdominal pain, body sleepiness, sticky or loose stool, mental sleepiness, bad breath and poor appetite in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and observation group was lower than control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in Hp eradication rate between two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the serum motilin level of two groups was higher than that before treatment, and the gastrin level of two groups was lower than that before treatment, and the serum motilin level of observation group was higher than that of control group, and the gastrin level of observation group was lower than that of control group, the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). Clinical effect of observation group was better than that of control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Modified Banxia Xiexin Decoction can effectively improve clinical symptoms of patients, regulate the content of serum motilin and gastrin, and its clinical efficacy is better than that of Western medicine alone.
