Abstract:Objective To study the safety and efficacy of mini rivet combined with Kirschner wire in the treatment of mallet finger. Methods A total of 120 patients with mallet finger admitted to Huai’an First Hospital Affiliated to Nanjing Medical University from July 2016 to July 2018 were selected, they were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 60 cases in each group. The control group was treated with Kirschner wire operation, and the observation group was treated with mini rivet on the basis of the control group. The clinical efficacy and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups. Finger joint recovery (extension angle, active flexion angle, range of motion) and visual analogue scale (VAS) were compared between the two groups at six months and 12 months after operation. The peak systolic velocity (PSV), diastolic peak velocity (EDV) and resistance index (RI) of digital ventral artery were compared between the two groups before and 12 months after operation. Results The clinical excellent and good rate in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). At 6, 12 months after operation, the active flexion angle and range of motion in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, while the extension angle was lower than that in the control group, with statistical significance (all P < 0.05). Twelve months after operation, PSV and EDV in the observation group were higher than before operation, RI was lower than before operation, EDV in the control group was higher than before operation, RI in the control group was lower than lower than before operation, and PSV and EDV in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, RI was lower than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (all P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in PSV between before and 12 months after operation in the control group (P > 0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of complications between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion Mini rivet combined with Kirschner wire has better efficacy and safety in the treatment of mallet finger.
