Research hotspot of domestic elderly medical and health service utilization based on CiteSpace

Abstract：Objective To construct the visualization knowledge map of the research field of elderly medical and health service utilization in China. Methods The relevant literatures published in CNKI and Web of Science core collection database from January 2000 to June 2022 were respectively searched, and CiteSpace software was used to visualize the annual number of publications, authors, institutions, and keywords. Results A total of 964 articles were included. Since 2000, the annual number of published papers in this field has shown an overall increasing trend, and important research centers such as Peking University and Shandong University have been formed, but there was a lack of extensive cooperation among the centers and core authors. The research focused on the elderly medical and health service demand, utilization and influencing factors, the elderly community health service utilization, and medical security system. Conclusion This study visually shows the trend of publications, core authors, and institutional networks in the field of geriatric medical and health services utilization in China since 2000, the research hotspots and trends in this field are summarized, which can provide reference for the follow-up research and policy formulation in this field.
