Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of family-member participatory intensive behavioral intervention on symptom control and parental mental health in children with asthma. Methods Seventy-eight children with asthma and their families treated in Nantong Maternal and Child Health Hospital of Jiangsu Province from April 2017 to March 2022 were selected as subjects. The children and their families were divided into control group and observation group by computer stratification, with 39 children and 39 family members in each group. The control group received routine intervention, and the observation group received intensive behavioral intervention based on family participation. After 12 weeks of intervention, parents’ mental health, asthma control and life quality of children in the two groups were observed and compared. Results The overall analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences between the two groups, time points and interactions in the evaluation of the childhood-asthma control test, pediatric asthma quality of life questionnaire, and parenting stress index short form (P＜0.05); there was statistical significance at each time point within the group (P＜0.05); and there was statistical significance at each time point between the two groups after intervention (P＜0.05). Conclusion Family participation intensive behavior intervention can effectively control the symptoms of asthma children and improve the quality of life, so as to improve the level of family members’ mental health.
