Abstract:Objective To explore the application value of magnetic resonance T2 weighted image (T2WI) image texture analysis in T2/3 staging of rectal cancer. Methods The data of 92 patients with T2/3 staging of rectal cancer confirmed by pathological examination who were admitted to Rugao Hospital Affiliated to Nantong University from January 2019 to January 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients received high-resolution plain rectal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) before surgery, and axial T2WI images were selected for lesion texture analysis. MRI texture parameters were compared between T2 staging and T3 staging of rectal cancer patients; the relationship between MRI texture parameters and T2/3 staging of rectal cancer patients was analyzed; the diagnostic value of MRI texture parameters for T2/3 staging of rectal cancer patients was analyzed. Results The mean value, autocorrelation, entropy, and variance and sum of T3 staging patients were higher than those of T2 staging patients, while the contrast was lower than those of T2 staging patients, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Mean value, autocorrelation, entropy, and variance and sum were all influencing factors for T2/3 staging of rectal cancer patients (P<0.05). The combined detection of MRI texture parameters in the diagnosis of rectal cancer patients showed a higher area under the curve of T2/3 staging than each single detection. Conclusion Mean value, contrast, autocorrelation, entropy, and variance and sum of MRI texture parameters are influencing factors of T staging in patients with rectal cancer, magnetic resonance T2WI image texture analysis technology has a high diagnostic value for preoperative of T2/3 staging rectal cancer.
