Abstract:Impediment disease is a common clinical chronic disease and senile disease, often with pain as the main symptom. Professor Hu Guoheng has rich experience in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease. On the basis of the understanding of “collateral disease theory”“treatment of impediment disease using collateral theory”, and “viscera deficiency and collateral obstruction”, he believes that collateral obstruction should be based on “yin collaterals”, the root of impediment disease is deficiency of kidney-essence and qi, and obstruction of kidney collaterals, the key to the pathogenesis is the deficiency of heart-qi and blood, and the obstruction of heart collaterals, and the pathological basis is the obstruction of the heart and kidney collaterals, which is blocked by phlegm and blood stasis. In terms of treatment, emphasis is placed on nourishing the heart and kidney, regulating qi and blood, and advocating the combination of rigidity and softness on the principles of diffusing impediment and dredging collateral, resolving phlegm and dispelling blood stasis. The clinical effect is quite good. It verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of treating impediment disease using collateral theory from “heart and kidney”. Therefore, this article introduces Professor Hu’s clinical experience in impediment disease combined with a clinical medical case.
