Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of trigger point release therapy on postpartum spastic pelvic floor muscle syndrome. Methods A total of 60 patients with postpartum spastic pelvic floor syndrome from the Postpartum Rehabilitation Clinic, Shanghai Baoshan Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from February 2020 to January 2022 were selected as research objects. The patients were divided into observation group and control group by envelope method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group received Kegel exercise and electromyographic biofeedback treatment, and observation group received trigger point releasing therapy on the basis of control group, both groups were treated for five weeks. Visual analogue scale (VAS) score, constipation scoring system (CSS) score and patient assessment of constipation quality of life (PAC-QOL) score of two groups were compared before and after treatment. Results After treatment, VAS, CSS, and PAC-QOL scores in two groups were lower than those before treatment, and observation group was lower than control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Trigger point releasing therapy can improve the constipation symptoms of patients with postpartum spastic pelvic floor muscle syndrome.
