Professor Zhou Jian’s experience in treating Graves’ ophthalmopathy from liver and lung theory

Abstract:Graves’ ophthalmopathy (GO) is a common disease in the department of ophthalmology and thyroidology. Because it causes ocular changes, the patient’s appearance is affected at least, the patient’s vision is impaired at most, and the patient’s quality of life is significantly affected, clinical treatment is more difficult. Professor Zhou Jian believes that liver and lung qi disorders are the important pathogenesis of GO. He is good at treating GO by syndrome differentiation and staging based on the rise and fall theory of liver and lung qi. He has clear clinical ideas and accurate medication. This article summarizes Professor Zhou Jian’s experience in long-term syndrome differentiation treatment of GO, and expounds the typical clinical cases, in order to provide reference for traditional Chinese medicine treatment of GO.
