Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine foot bath combined with magnetic bead pressing on ear in the treatment of cough after lung infection of lingering pathogen due to deficient vital qi type. Methods A total of 105 patients with cough after lung infection of lingering pathogen due to deficient vital qi type admitted to Nantong Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Jiangsu Province from October 2018 to May 2021 were selected. According to the random number table method, the patients were divided into traditional Chinese medicine foot bath group, magnetic bead pressing on ear group and combination group (traditional Chinese medicine foot bath combined with magnetic bead pressing on ear), with 35 cases in each group. After two weeks of treatment, the efficacy, symptom relief time, traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score, cytokines and adverse reactions of the three groups were compared. Results After treatment, the overall efficacy of the combined group was better than that of the traditional Chinese medicine foot bath group and the magnetic bead pressing on ear group, and the differences were statistically significant(P < 0.05). The scores of cough, expectoration, and pharyngeal itching in the three groups were significantly lower than those before treatment, and the scores in the combined group were lower than those in the magnetic bead pressing on ear group and the traditional Chinese medicine foot bath group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The relief time of cough, expectoration and pharyngeal itching in the combined group were shorter than those in the magnetic bead pressing on ear group and the traditional Chinese medicine foot bath group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). The serum C-reactive protein and white blood cell counts of the three groups were lower than those before treatment, and those in the combined group were lower than those in the magnetic bead pressing on ear group and the traditional Chinese medicine foot bath group, the level of secretory immunoglobulin A in sputum was higher than that before treatment, and the level of combined group was higher than that of magnetic bead pressing on ear group and traditional Chinese medicine foot bath group, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.05). There were no obvious adverse reactions in the three groups. Conclusion The combination of traditional Chinese medicine foot bath and magnetic bead pressing on ear in the treatment of cough after lung infection of lingering pathogen due to deficient vital qi type can accelerate the relief and improvement of clinical symptoms, reduce serum inflammatory factors, and has significant effect.
