| The application effect of inpatient blood glucose quality nursing program in non-endocrinology departments′ nurses training |

Abstract Objective To evaluate the application effect of inpatient blood glucose quality nursing program in non-endocrinology departments′ nurses training. Methods From July to August in 2016, 542 non-endocrinology departments' nurses from 10 hospitals in Sichuan province were selected as the research subjects by convenient sampling method. A 12 d hospital blood glucose quality nursing training was conducted in the form of web-based teaching. The content of training contained 4 modules such as bedside testing of blood glucose, first aid of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia, usage of hypoglycemic agent and perioperative management of blood glucose. The scores of knowledge management and the quality rate were compared before and after training. Results After training, the scores of bedside testing of blood glucose, first aid of hyperglycemia or hypoglycemia, usage of hypoglycemic agent, perioperative management of blood glucose and the quality rate were all higher than those of before training, with statistically significant differences (P ＜ 0.05). Conclusion Inpatient blood glucose quality nursing program in nurses of non-endocrinology departments can effectively improve the blood glucose management knowledge of nurses and plays an important role in the blood glucose management in the whole hospital. It is worthy of promotion and application.
